CNC Tube Bending - Precision Tube Bending Services
A CNC Tube Bender is used to shape hollow metal tubing (round, square, rectangular), steel pipe, and
bar stock (round or square). This piece of equipment at is also equipped with a CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) unit, which is programmed for precise and repeatable bends at high speeds.
CNC Tube Bending is ideal for parts that contain more than two bends.
The bending procedure starts by feeding the cut-to-length material into the chuck of the bender. Once
the material is locked securely into place, the operator uses a control panel to start the process. The bender then makes a bend and will automatically readjust and secure the material for the next bend.
Once the programmed operation has completed its series of bends, the chuck will release, so that the operator can remove the part and insert the next pre-cut tube or pipe.
Although it is suggested that all of the bends in a part are designed around the same bend radius, this
CNC bender has additional capabilities that allows mixing of bend radii in the same part. Projects with multiple tight bends may interfere with the machine and prevent completion of all bends in one process
. In this case, additional or alternate processes may facilitate the completion of the part. Adjacent bends will usually require some minimum amount of unbent straight tube between bends for clamping
during bending. The maximum degree of bend allowed with our equipment is 180 degrees.
If possible, designers should submit drawings early and remain open to minor design change
suggestions to simplify the bending processes and maximize the quality of parts.
Sheet Metal Bending jobs should be analyzed by our tube bending personnel to determine feasibility
and the best methods of completing the parts.
